Bio
Dr Hana Subhi is a professor of French language and literature at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi. She is also a literary translator and a researcher at SAFIR, the research institute at SUAD, and at CEFREPA (French Center for Research on the Arabian Peninsula). She holds a PhD in French Literature from Sorbonne Nouvelle University – Paris III.
Her research themes include translation studies, the image of women in 19th, 20th, and 21st-century French literature, comparative literature (France–Arab world), and travel literature.
In 2014, she received the Senghor-Ibn-Khaldoun Prize, awarded by the International Organization of Francophonie (OIF), for her translation from French into Arabic of Edgar Morin’s work ‘The Humanity of Humanity: The Human Identity
