Bio

Martina Censi has been an Assistant Professor at the University of Bergamo (Italy) since 2018. She is an Associate Researcher in the Arabic Studies Unit of the Interlanguage Research Group: Memories, Identities, Territories (ERIMIT) at Rennes 2 University. She holds a joint Italian-French PhD (Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and INALCO, Paris). Her research, situated in the field of contemporary Arabic literature, and particularly the Arabic novel, focuses on representations of the body and the processes of identity construction among individuals and communities in contemporary Arab societies. She adopts an interdisciplinary approach that combines literary theory with feminist criticism, gender studies, postcolonial studies, and sociology. Among her publications are (2022).
