SAFIR, in partnership with Oxford’s Transport Studies Unit (TSU), presents “Bridging Dubai–Abu Dhabi: Toward One Global City”, an interdisciplinary conference examining the spatial, infrastructural, and governance challenges of linking Dubai and Abu Dhabi into a cohesive global metropolis. The event will convene academics, policymakers, and industry experts for a day of discussion on metropolitan integration and sustainable mobility. Key sessions will address global city dynamics, intercity transport, logistics, telework, and innovation in sustainable mobility. The afternoon will focus on neighbourhood-scale planning and everyday urban life, exploring the 15-Minute City concept, proximity, and social interaction in public spaces. The conference concludes with a keynote and dialogue on how connectivity and sustainability can converge to shape the UAE’s metropolitan future.
