Arbitration is a major dispute resolution mechanism in international trade. This class is an introduction to the law of international arbitration. It will present its main characteristics. It will also focus on the specific question of the role of state courts in supporting arbitration. Indeed, state courts can play an important role before, during and after the arbitral proceedings. Appointment of arbitrators, interim measures and enforcement of awards are just a few examples.
