Dr. Joumana El Rifai is an Associate Professor in the Sciences and Engineering Department at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (SUAD), with a PhD in Engineering from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium. She is an experienced educator and researcher with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Dr. El Rifai's expertise spans Thin Films, Experimental Physics, Semiconductors and Materials Science. Her research interests include the fabrication of novel semiconductor materials, nanostructures for photovoltaic and energy harvesting applications, and advanced MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) design and fabrication. Affiliated with the Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi Research Institute (SAFIR) and the Novel Materials Development laboratory at SUAD (NoMaD), her work not only contributes to the academic community but also has practical implications for the advancement of technology and sustainable energy solutions
