Marion Breteau is an anthropologist and research associate at the Centre Français de la Recherche de la Péninsule Arabique (CEFREPA Kuwait). She joined the TikTok Cultures Research Network (Curtin University, Australia) as an international research member in 2022 and the French research group Internet, AI et Société in 2024. Her doctorate (Aix-Marseille University, France), earned in 2019, investigates love and marriage among youth in Oman. Her current research focuses on journo-influencing in Kuwait and the digital literacy of migrant workers in the Gulf.
