Biographie
Dr. Mario Torres Jarrín is the Director of the Institute of European Studies and Human Rights and the Director of the Office of International Projects at the Pontifical University of Salamanca (Spain). He previously served as Professor of Regionalism in Latin America and Associate Researcher at the School of Business, Economics, and Law of Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany), and as Adjunct Professor and Research Fellow at the Institute of Latin American Studies, Stockholm University (Sweden).
He has been a Visiting Professor at leading institutions including Copenhagen Business School, the Universities of Bergen and Oslo (Norway), ISCTE–University Institute of Lisbon (Portugal), the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (Romania), the University of Economics and Anglo-American University (Czech Republic), among others across Europe and Latin America.
Dr. Torres Jarrín is a member of several international academic and scientific committees, including the G20/T20 Task Forces on “Economy, Employment and Education in the Digital Age” and “The Future of Multilateralism and Global Governance.” He also serves on the Academic Councils of the EU–LAC Academic Forum and the Center for Latin American Studies in Prague.
He has participated in four Jean Monnet projects on EU–Latin America relations and currently leads the Erasmus+ project “EU Defenders – Reloading European Cultural Heritage through Digital Storytelling and Media Literacy.”
Dr. Torres Jarrín earned his Ph.D. in History, a Master’s in European Union Studies, and a degree in Business Administration from the University of Salamanca. His research focuses on EU foreign policy and diplomacy, EU–LAC relations, interregionalism, global governance, digital and scientific diplomacy, and AI in diplomacy. He is the author of numerous books, research articles, and policy reports published across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
