الوصف
Dr. Hasanain Al-Ibrahimy, a medical doctor and entrepreneur, launched the Ibrahimi Collection for Iraqi Fine Art in 2003, dedicating part of his resources to the preservation of modern and contemporary Iraqi art. His collection, located in Amman and Baghdad, covers a century of creation, from the 1920s to the present day, and includes paintings, sculptures and drawings. It also features a small number of Arab artists.
In this regard, a valuable archive library (catalogues, journals, art books) complements and enhances the presentation and understanding of the artworks in the collection, such as the catalogue Sights on Iraqi Modern and Contemporary Art from the Ibrahimi Collection, published in March 2024.
Driven by a vision of heritage and transmission, Dr. Al-Ibrahimy considers his collection to be a rich and coherent corpus, able to position modern Iraqi art in its rightful place in the global artistic landscape. His actions are multifaceted and impactful: creating accessible archives, fostering cultural exchanges, and managing artistic resources with precision and professionalism. The collection has become both an academic reference and a cultural bridge between Iraq and the rest of the world.
