السيرة الذاتية
François-Alexandre Bertrand is a French-Greek entrepreneur and lecturer driven by a deep commitment to responsible innovation and the vital relationship between humanity and the ocean.
Born in Libreville, Gabon, he grew up in a richly diverse cultural environment that nurtured a deep connection with nature. A graduate of ESCE (École Supérieure du Commerce Extérieur) in Paris, he began his career in strategy consulting before joining the Women’s Forum for Economy & Society, where he contributed to international discussions on major economic and social issues.
He later founded Platypus Craft SAS, a pioneering company that developed the world’s first semi-submersible vessel capable of operating both on the surface and underwater. The prototype has already been used in several environmental expeditions, demonstrating the potential of this technology in support of exploration and conservation.
In parallel, he launched The Blue Odyssey Initiative, an association dedicated to ocean protection. A true citizen movement and “do tank,” it connects technological innovation with collective action. Its flagship projects include Pollusub, a program for detecting and collecting underwater waste, and Blue AI, a digital platform at the crossroads of artificial intelligence and citizen engagement to address environmental challenges.
Alongside his entrepreneurial and non-profit work, François-Alexandre teaches strategy consulting at the Albert School, sharing his experience with the next generation of innovators and responsible leaders.
