An internationally recognized scholar in economic geography and urban planning, Richard Shearmur is Professor at McGill University’s Faculty of Engineering. His research explores where economic activity happens and why—linking infrastructure, innovation, and spatial justice across public and private sectors.
Educated in Cambridge, McGill, and Université de Montréal, he worked as a real estate consultant before academia.
